Shake Shake, Shakespeare Festival

Shakespeare Festival was celebrated a few weeks ago at the University of Puerto Rico in Humacao (UPRH) . After two years of absence, the celebration returned and with more excitement than ever. This year, one of the activities included the participation of local public schools. The majority of these schools provided Dramas as well as musical performances to the celebration. The Juan Ponce de Leon Intermediate School (JPL) couldn't miss out on this celebration and they were included in the program as well.

One of my professors, Carmen Milagros Torres, wished to include me as part of the activities and I developed an art exhibition. This art exhibition included pieces from different students at the UPRH, but the most remarkable works were definitely those done by the students at the JPL. Students from both 7th and 9th grade participated of this activity. While their works were presented some of my other students read Shakespeare sonnets around the exhibition as well as on stage. It was a great experience being able to see them be so creative and excited to participate. Long live the arts!

Note* Since these students are minors, their parents have been notified and
have agreed to allow  their children to be photographed.
