St. Patrick's Day
As part of promoting Diversity in the classroom, I wanted the students to experience the celebration of this holiday and to be more knowledgeable about it even though it is not celebrated here in our island. The students were given the leprechaun version of a Flat Stanley. The idea was to develop a scavenger hunt where the students would follow a list of colors and find them among the school grounds. The goal was to get them more involved with the school green areas and to help clean it and keep it tidy. That is why the students were not only looking for specific colored objects, they were looking for objects that might be considered garbage or contaminating the school.
We also got our hand splattered with paint!
